The Global Gateways Digital Media Arts Training Institute is excited to launch our next Video Production Cohort, a hands-on training program designed for ages 17–24 who want to build real skills in video production, digital storytelling, and content creation. Whether you're dreaming of becoming a filmmaker, YouTuber, creative director, or branded content producer — this program gives you the foundation, tools, and mentorship to bring your stories to life.

What You Will Learn

Participants receive professional, project-based training in:

  • Camera & Lighting Fundamentals

  • Learn how to use smartphones, DSLRs, lighting kits, and stabilizers to capture cinematic-quality footage.

  • Story Development & Scriptwriting

  • Transform your ideas into production-ready scripts using storyboarding, shot lists, and narrative structure.

  • Audio Recording for Video

  • Explore microphones, field audio, voiceovers, and interview techniques that elevate your production quality.

  • Editing & Post-Production

  • Edit your film using industry tools (CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci, or iMovie depending on skill level) and learn pacing, transitions, color correction, and sound design.

  • Digital Storytelling & Social Video Formats

  • Create content optimized for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and brand campaigns.

  • Real-World Creative Work

  • Collaborate with local businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to produce a final project that becomes part of your professional portfolio.

At the end of the program, each student completes a final short film, documentary, or branded video to based on and for a community partner.

Who Can Apply?

This program is designed for girls and women ages 16–24 in who are ready to build a future in digital media—especially those facing barriers to opportunity. We welcome applicants who may be:

  • Aging out of foster care

  • Adjudicated or court-involved

  • Experiencing homelessness or housing instability

  • Struggling with truancy

  • High school or college dropouts

  • Living with financial hardship or limited resources

  • New entrants to the workforce or unemployed/underemployed

  • Beginners and intermediate learners — no prior experience required

 

If you’re creative, motivated, and looking for a new pathway forward, this program was built for you.

Program Duration: 6 Weeks
Schedule: 2 days per week, 2 hours per session
Start Date: January 12, 2026
End Date: February 19, 2026
Location: TBA — Jackson, MS
